New head of Media Design: Dr. Áron Balogh

From August 1, 2025, Dr. Áron Balogh, DLA, associate professor, will take on the position of head of the Media Design bachelor's and master's programs at Budapest Metropolitan University, as well as the role of head of the Multimedia specialization. Áron Balogh is also the System Architect at Hungarian Television and Technical Director at NextVision, with more than twenty years of experience in the creative industry and technological development.

He earned his degrees in motion picture and multimedia from Eszterházy Károly University and the Budapest College of Communication and Business, and his doctorate from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in the field of film and video arts. In his professional and teaching work, he focuses on the technological convergence of new media and digital creative processes, with a particular emphasis on 3D technologies, artificial intelligence applications in motion pictures, and innovative media design development methods.

“The radical convergence of creative technologies is not a hypothetical future scenario, but a present and shared reality. We have entered an unavoidable, compelling, yet extremely exciting and creative period, to which I would like to respond proactively and consistently,” says Dr. Áron Balogh, expressing his professional credo.

In his new role as head of department, his goal is to equip students with multidisciplinary, marketable knowledge, preparing them to confidently tackle the technological challenges posed by artificial intelligence, automation, and innovation. His training concept emphasizes the integration of classic methods and contemporary digital practices, providing space for responsible and creative technological experimentation.
