METU Hosts Successful ABCD x METU Hackathon on May 30

On May 30, METU proudly hosted the ABCD x METU Hackathon, marking a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to fostering innovation and creativity among students. The event brought together bright minds from various disciplines to collaborate on solving real-world problems through technology and innovative thinking.

Event Overview

The hackathon began with a series of workshops and mentoring sessions aimed at helping participants refine their ideas and prepare for the final pitch. The two categories the participants could register for are as follows:

  1. Business Start-ups - Participants were to innovate solutions for new ventures, tackling challenges like market research, product development, and business strategy.
  2. AI in Higher Education – Participants were to utilise AI to improve higher education, enhance personalized learning, administrative efficiency, and student support services.
  3. Participants registered as teams or individuals, and those without teams were assisted in forming groups to ensure collaborative efforts.
  4. The final event of the ABCD x METU Hackathon was a culmination of weeks of hard work and creativity, including 3 workshops prior to this final day. Held on Thursday, May 30, from 11:00 AM to 04:30 PM in Infopark Building I, the day was packed with activities designed to refine and present the participants' projects.

The hackathon produced several outstanding projects, demonstrating exceptional creativity, technical skills, and a deep understanding of the problems they aimed to solve. Some of the notable winning projects included:

First Runner-up: Alchemistry

Second Runner-up: Streamline Controller
