Blended Intensive Programs (BIP)

Blended Intensive Programs (BIP) offer a hybrid learning experience that combines short-term physical mobility with online learning. At least three higher education institutions (HEIs) from different Erasmus+ program countries participate, promoting international academic and cultural exchange.
The BIP format increases accessibility, diversifies learning methods, and allows students to encounter different perspectives, teaching styles, and cultural backgrounds.
Objectives and Impact
- Enrichment of international and cultural experiences: Students gain exposure to diverse perspectives and teaching methods in a European and global context.
- Skill development: Strengthening communication, intercultural competence, critical thinking, and digital literacy.
- Personal growth support: Fostering adaptability, self-confidence, and resilience.
Program Structure
- Duration: The physical component lasts between 5–30 days and must be complemented by a compulsory virtual component, organized either before or after the physical mobility.
- Credits: A minimum of 3 ECTS credits must be earned.
- Timing: BIPs are not strictly tied to academic semesters and can, for example, be organized as summer schools.
- Location: The physical component takes place in the host institution’s country.
- Financial support: Erasmus+ grants are awarded exclusively for the physical mobility period.

Short-term Erasmus+ mobility grants are available for BIPs:
